We do not bill insurance directly, but can provide a superbill you can use to submit a claim for reimbursement to your insurance.
What is a claim for reimbursement? This means you pay us at the time of service and then you bill your insurance using a coded receipt called a superbill. Your insurance will then reimburse you for some or all of the appointment cost if you have benefits.
Appointments with us are considered out-of-network physical therapy. Please contact your insurance and ask about your out-of-network benefits for physical therapy. Some insurance companies also require you have a referal from your primary care doctor. It's a good idea to ask about this too.
Your insurance will not usually reimburse you the full amount of your appointment, but you may get something back so we encourage you to submit for reimbursement if you think you have benefits. We care about your care and want to help you get money back if possible. So if your insurance denies your claim for reimbursement, please talk to our office. Your insurance may need doctor notes or other details which we can provide.
Why did we stop billing insurance directly?
At Lotus Center for Integral Healing & Wellness, our focus is on YOU, your healing journey, and making it as efficient as possible.
Sadly, due to the politics and business of making money, insurance companies, both private and public, are overly involved in your plan of care. This over-involvement forces most practitioners and their clinics to have large numbers of clients under their supervision daily, shortening office visit time and lengthening wait times. Having numerous clients to work with at once compromises the focus, time, and connection available for you.
Our approach is different, we treat one on one for 50 minutes to give you the most efficient healing journey. A skilled practitioner has much to offer anyone who is ready to return to a full life feeling great.
In addition to focused individualized care for you in office, we also provide guided at home care. For example, we may prescribe a few focused movements as we feel this is an integral part of the healing. However, we do not see it as necessary for you to do those movements under supervision, rather we want you to be independent! We spend most of our time on manual medicine and education for you to understand and care for your body through the healing process and beyond. We offer a value that is unique to most approaches.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.
